That's the big question often asked, why Deer Horn Lodge? Because I have growned into the business, I know the needs of the fishermen's. I've been fishing the Cabonga reservoir for 25 years. I know where, how deep and what to use to catch fish and this at any time of the fishing season. Our equipements are in great working condition, our accomodations are not the Hilton hotels but are nice and clean and are rated 4 stars by the Quebec tourism departement in the outfitter section. But the ultimate reason is the lake itself. The Cabonga Reservoir is huge, 2800 miles of shore line, 37 natural lakes connecting one another, a lake that has been protected since 1939, a lake that as always been open only 16 weeks a year with lower possesion limits than anywhere else.

Only 2 outfitters on this unbeleivable lake, no private cabins or cottages, never you will find a lake that size in North America with 2 outfitters only. All this very accessible, 29 km of gravel road only to do, 4 hours and one half drive from Montreal, 6 hours drive from the 1000 islands bridge, 3 hours and one half from Ottawa. Why taking the chance of recking your vehicule driving hundreds of kilometer on bad dirt roads when you have here better fishing with easy access?
