A word from Steve & sons owners of Deer Horn Lodge

2006 & 2007  were by far the best walleye fishing seasons I have seen ! Just about every day brought us suprises after surprises. Many guys have caught their dream fish, you know that 30 incher or over walleye. I have created during the 2006 season a daily fishing report page and you can see how good 2006 & 2007 were. I will continue the reports in 2008 so you can follow how the season is going. At our camp there is something inherently magical about fishing the Cabonga Reservoir.

I've spend the last two and a half decades fishing all over this spectacular area, 37 original natural lakes connecting one another, so much water you couldn't fish it all in a hundred lifetimes.

It's fishing opportuninities are truly mind-boggling. Remember, the Cabonga Reservoir is one of the largest body of water in Canada with over 2800 miles of shoreline - that's right 2800 miles of shoreline! A fish-filled water!

Over 400 KM square of water seemingly endless, you will find a nice variety of natural game fish, there are the Northern Pike, the Walleye, the Lake Trout, the Whitefish, the legendary sturgeon, the yellow perch, the red carp, the mulet and in the deepest part of the lake the dogfish.

The Cabonga Reservoir is located in Historic La Verendrye wildlife reserve wich have long been famed for Northern Pike and Walleye fishing, to add to this utopian fishing you will find a wildlife sceanery compare to none, since the wildlife reserve have been protecting wildlife since 1939.

Deer Horn Lodge is a key destination for those who want to land a 40 inches fighting demon Northern Pike or a 30 inches walleye, they grow big and strong in the Cabonga.
